Avoid direct link to edit this template

With http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/w/index.php?title=Template:DE:HelpMenu&diff=next&oldid=1181304 a direct link to edit this template was set. I reverted this to avoid clutter on the Help Menu navigation bar. The menu isn't going to be changed often. If someone is moving structures he only needs two clicks more to edit the template. --Hb 04:57, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

The main reason is that pages are regularly renamed on this wiki, but tabs wont' follow: to work correctly, the current tab must match its effective name (not a redirected name) left after renaming one of the pages in tabs.

Maybe in some languages renaming is often. But not in German. And renaming central help pages seems questionable at all. So please avoid clutter. --Hb 07:44, 2 June 2015 (UTC)

This template is not central, and used only to reference a few pages between each other. They are likely to be organized with all the rest.

Once again this is not "clutter", but a general need for navigation templates to have an edit link, because they are also expandable, and will evolve across time.

Is it really harmful to have a single character displayed in a place that is already empty? All tabs template now include this small edit link (which is also present on the home page of the wiki for most sections, because they also evolve over time !) Many pages including in the German version are still not structured as they should, simply because there are lot of missing translations, or because there are also ongoing changes (not completely finished) in the Englihs version.

If you think about clutter, look at fixing the pages themselves that are full of dead or unmaintained contents (including on pages using this template !) And there are many other templates that have much more evident clutter. — Verdy_p ^(talk) 09:10, 2 June 2015 (UTC)
