Language school

I would treat it like amenity=driving_school - yes, it has "school" in the name but is a clearly distinct entity from a school system Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 05:12, 7 July 2019 (UTC)

Note "FE in the United Kingdom is usually a means to attain an intermediate, advanced or follow-up qualification necessary to progress into HE" in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Further_education linked from college - this is not fitting language schools or diving schools at all Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 05:20, 7 July 2019 (UTC)

The tag amenity=coast_guard wasn’t approved and has been rarely used

Resolved

@MalgiK:, while amenity=coast_guard was listed as "approved" in 2020-Aug-10, this was incorrect - only 4 votes were for approval, and the minimum standard has been at least 8 votes. It has also been used less than 200 times. Therefore, I've fixed the status and I will remove it from this page. --Jeisenbe (talk) 05:58, 12 November 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing. --MalgiK (talk) 06:01, 12 November 2020 (UTC)

amenity=gym

Resolved

The deprecated amenity = gym tag is rarely used without leisure=sports_centre/fitness_centre. Can it be removed? Something B (talk) 12:16, 5 February 2021 (UTC)

amenity=fast_food link wrongly links to Esperanto langcode in English version

Resolved

I noticed that the Sustenance -> amenity=fast_food link (https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Template:Map_Features:amenity#amenity-fast_food) links to Eo:Tag:amenity=fast_food, instead of just Tag:amenity=fast_food.

Same story with amenity=funeral_hall, but linking to portuguese

Unfortunately, my wiki skills aren't enough to figure out how to fix this.

The code in the template responsible for this is below, and it's no different than the other table entries, so I suspect https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Template:Valuelink may be having some unexpected behavior

|- id="amenity-fast_food"
| {{ keylink | amenity }}
| {{ valuelink | amenity | fast_food }}

I was told on the #osm IRC that I should probably escalate this to a data admin, so I'm pinging Minh Nguyen

i am hoping my edits to Item:Q6961 (change rank) will fix this but not 100% certain. --Dónal (talk) 11:25, 7 May 2023 (UTC)
Based on your changes (that worked, thanks :)) I also edited Item:Q21450 (funeral_hall) so that it's links to the English version rather than Portuguese. Seems like if the English entry isn't first it needs to be boosted by the rank change.

Let's reactivate amenity=spa

I am baffled to learn that tag is depreciated - why is depreciated, it obviously is useful for tagging couple of map features: (1) "spa hotel"; (2) "spa resort" and even (3) "spa town" ? Just to day, although for the first time and in regard of one place, I used it on several edits today. Why shouldn't we reactivate amenity=spa; is there any really significant reason not to ?--Santasa (talk) 19:43, 22 November 2023 (UTC)

Because there are other tags for spas, see Tag:amenity=spa and talk page there. maro21 18:52, 30 March 2024 (UTC)
