I started contributing to OpenStreetMap in September 2008, mapping minor roads in the Aberystwyth area. I've been interested in mapping for quite a while, and have written my own moving map application for the Sharp Zaurus (and subsequently ported to the Nokie N810). A couple of years back I discovered OSM, but at the time the data was pretty sparse for my area. In August 2008 I was given an N810 for my birthday, and porting the GPS application to it got me more interested in the route planning side of things, which got me more interested in OSM...
