I've written a BASH script to process Environment Agency LIDAR data and create map tiles of surface features. The code is freely available on GitHub.

Map tiles of LIDAR data for the area around Canterbury are available to browse. They can be added to JOSM temporarily using this link if remote control is enabled, or added permanently as follows:

• Click on Imagery > Imagery Preferences
• Click on the '+ TMS' button
• Enter the URL http://gregrs.dev.openstreetmap.org/lidar/{zoom}/{x}/{-y}.png (note the -y) and a name for the layer
• The layer will appear in the Imagery menu
