Who am I
I work in the IT field since 1992 and I do a mix of boring and interesting tasks. Luckily the latter prevail.
My deep interest in digital cartography began in August 2013 when Google was pushing italian users to use Google Map Maker to modify and enrich its map data.
Searching for info I landed on a page that enlightened me and made me aware of the potentiality of OSM against "pure commercial" Google vision.
I found out that my little town on OSM missed a lot of stuff, so I decided to start from that... and it was cool!
My passion for OSM led me to expand my editing horizon over the nearby towns and then, after having switched from iD editor to JOSM, I discovered how much the MAP can do for people that suffer thanks to HOT and all the contributors.
I'm currently involved in mapping Pavia province countryside, especially waterways (and tracks): I believe that canals and ditches represents culture, knowledge and hard work and their preservation passes also through documenting their names and the path they follow through the land.
