I'm steadily mapping my home town of Wakefield, West Yorkshire, but also tend to take my GPS with me when going on any trips.

Work so far has been done with a Garmin GPS12, although the track memory of only 1024 points is something of a limitation. With this in mind I've just purchased a GPS60, which with a 10000 point memory should allow me to log points at much higher rates for much longer periods (and from what I hear, much higher accuracy too).

I now have a TomTom Go 510 to keep me entertained - details on useful add-on software for this device can be found here: TomTom - 12:24, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
