I'm Richard from Wilmslow, Cheshire.

I've been mapping south Manchester, Cambridge, Cheshire and North Wales mainly since early November 2006. I think I first discovered the OpenStreetMap project via a mapping displayed on Wikipedia.

I received a Garmin eTrex Vista HCx for Christmas 2007, and since then have been putting it through its paces. It seems to get signal lock pretty quickly, and indoor signal lock is possible, although stated accuracy is usually lower.

One criticism would be that in tunnels, it just assumes you go straight on until either; 1. you emerge from the tunnel - and the track suddenly snaps back to where you should be, or 2. it stops tracking and starts a new track from where signal is restored.
