Hello - I'm the author of BeeLineGPS and am in the process of creating a map-compiler taking advantage of the OSM file format. This effort includes the development of an efficient spatial database engine suitable for embedded software. I’ve been in the vehicle navigation development world and am familiar in using other manufactures map data. I hope to add some of my experience to this effort in better support for “routable” map database. I believe that the OSM can easily support this type of growth.
