Fragen und Anmerkungen
Die Beschreibungen auf der Seite könnten sicherlich ausführlicher sein (man kommt j zu nichts), so dass sich sicherlich die eine oder andere Frage ergibt. Hier werden solche Fragen und die Antworten darauf gesammelt.
Ich habe ein Problem bezüglich der Benennung der type-Datei.
Muss die so heißen wie die zugehörige IMG-Datei ????
- Der Name der Typ-Datei muss nicht mit dem Namen der img-Datei zusammenpassen. Allerdings gibt es ein paar andere Einschränkungen fuer den Namen der typ-Datei. Ich glaube, er darf maximal 8-Zeichen lang sein, und Sonderzeichen im Namen würde ich auch lieber vermeiden.
- Ich benutze z.b. "osm_own.typ" oder "osm_v001.typ". Der Name "osm_own_v001.typ" dagegen ging nicht, vermutlich wegen der Länge.
- Kleine Einschränkung noch: Man sollte auch nur eine typ-Datei zur Zeit nutzen:
- Ich hatte auch schon mal zwei typ-Dateien gleichzeitig per Sendmap in die gmapsupp.img gepackt, weil ich da zwei verschiedene Karten kombinieren wollte (getrennte SRTM und OSM-Karten). Da war es dann ein wenig Glückssache, an welcher Position das Gerät welche typ-Datei benutzt hat. Ich habe dann eine typ-Datei gebaut, die die Elemente von beiden Karten enthielt, damit funktionierte es dann auch mit zwei Karten gleichzeitig.
Du hast die Typ mit in die IMG gepackt ??? Wenn ich Deine Seite richtig gelesen habe, dann hast du die Typ mit MapTK bearbeitet und mit Mkgmap die Img aus den OSM-Daten erstellt - aber da kenne ich keinen Parameter, der die Typ einbindet ????!!?!?!?
- Mit dem Programm Sendmap kann man die Kartendateien an ein Garmin-Gerät senden, man kann den gesammelten Kartensatz allerdings auch in eine gmapsupp.img-Datei packen, die man dann händisch auf das Gerät (auf die Speicherkarte in den Ordner \garmin) kopiert. Da ich mehrere Garmin-Geräte mit meiner Karte versorge, gehe ich halt immer den Umweg über die gmapsupp.img Datei.
- Die Endung img ist leider nicht ganz eindeutig:
- 1. haben die einzelnen Kartenkacheln diese Endung.
- 2. gibt es eine Übersichtskarte mit dieser Endung, die den gleichen Namen wie die tdb-Datei hat und in Mapsource verwendet wird (ob das Navi die auch braucht, weiss ich nicht, ich packe sie vorsichtshalber immer mit dazu).
- und 3. gibt es halt die gmapsupp.img Datei, in der alle einzelnen Kartendateien auf dem Navi zusammengepackt sind.
- 1. und 2. erzeuge ich mit mkgmap, 3. ist das Ergebnis von Sendmap, entweder direkt im Navi (ggf. auf der Speicherkarte) oder halt extra auf dem Computer gespeichert.
Ich habe mir gerade einmal MapTK näher angesehen und so ganz einfach ist das ja auch nicht. Wenn ich es richtig sehe, dann kann ich damit eine Typ analysieren und für definierte POI/Polygon/Linien-Definitionen entsprechende Grafikelemente erstellen. Das ist klar. Was sich aber noch nicht erschlossen hat ist die Art und Weise des Anlegen eines neuen Elementes (hier wohl Clonen) genannt. Kannst Du mir den Weg stichwortartig beschreiben bzw. woher kommt die neue Hex-Code-Angabe. Bei mir ist jedenfalls kein neuer Eintrag erschienen.
- Ja, die Bedienung von MapTK ist etwas gewöhnungsbeduerftig, aber letztendlich tut das Programm, was ich von ihm will. (Es kann sicherlich noch mehr als einfach nur typ-Dateien bearbeiten, aber das brauche ich ja gar nicht.)
- Um ein Element zu klonen, musst du erst das Ursprungselement links in der Liste markieren, dann tippst du rechts in das Eingabefeld die neue Nummer ein, und zum Schluss drückst du dann den clonen-Knopf. Beim Beispielbild würde dann das Element 0x1004-Fuel kopiert werden als 0x401d-Fuel.
- Bei den Nummern sind leider nicht alle möglichen auch geeignet, bei einigen stellen sich die Garmin-Geräte leider quer. Bei welchen genau es Probleme gibt, weiss ich leider nicht. Grundsätzlich ist es wohl ratsam, sich auf die Nummernbereiche 0x??00 bis 0x??1f zu beschränken. Da muss man aber eventuell ein bisschen rumprobieren.
- Dir Projektdateien von MapTK sind übrigens ASCII-Dateien, so dass man auch mit einem ganz normalen ASCII-Editor Elemente löschen, kopieren oder verändern kann. Dass nutze ich häufiger beim Zeichnen von Symbolen, denn der Grafik-Editor von MapTK hat leider keine Funktionen zum Löschen oder Einfuegen von Zeilen oder Spalten. Im ASCII-Text geht das dann wesentlich schneller, als wenn man das mühsam über den Grafik-Editor machen will.
Was ich aber besonders interessant finde ist bei Dir Das Icon für die AutoBahn-Anschlussstellen. In der CSV kann ich keinen Hinweis erkennen wo der Name bzw. die Nummer, wie in Deiner Übersicht dargestellt, zugewiesen wird. Kannst Du mir dazu auch nochmal weiterhelfen ?
- Das Symbol fuer die Autobahnanschlussstelle wird in folgender Zeile mit den OSM-Daten verknüpft:
- point|highway|motorway_junction|0x40|0x0f|24
- Das bedeutet: OSM-Punkte mit dem tag "v=highway" und "k=motorway_junction" werden in der Garminkarte als Element 0x400f eingefuegt. Die 24 gibt an, dass das Symbol erst bei relativ starken Zomm sichtbar wird. Ich glaube die 24 entspricht 120m.

In case that you are the author of the image: Would you agree to open licensing of this image, allowing its use by anyone (similarly to your OSM edits)?
In case where it is a photo you (except relatively rare cases) author can make it available under a specific free license.
Would you be OK with CC0 (it allows use without attribution or any other requirement)?
Or do you prefer to require attribution and some other things using CC-BY-SA-4.0?

Hello! And sorry for bothering you, but description of file you uploaded need to be improved.
You have uploaded file which is licensed as requiring attribution. But right now attribution is not specified properly.
Please, ask for help if something is confusing or unclear in this message.
Please, fix that problem with this uploads - note that images with unclear licensing situation may be deleted.
Attribution may be missing completely or just be specified in nonstandard way, in either case it needs to be improved. Note that using CC-BY files without specifying attribution is a copyright violation, which is often unethical and unwanted. So clearly specifying required attribution is needed if license which makes attribution mandatory was used.
If it is applying to your own work which not based on work by others - then you can select own user name or some other preferred attribution or even change license to for example {{CC0-self}}
For files which are solely your own work: ensure that it is clearly stated at file page that you created image/took the photo/etc
For works by others - please ensure that there is link to the original source which confirms license and that you used proper attribution, or that source is clearly stated in some other way. This applies when you took screeshot, made map from OSM data and so on.
Especially for old OSM-baded maps, made from data before license change on 12 September 2012 you should use "map data © OpenStreetMap contributors" as at least part of attribution
For old OSM Carto maps, which predate license change on 12 September 2012 you can use a special template {{OSM Carto screenshot||old_license}}
Note: Maybe the current license on this file is wrong and a different one should be used! Wiki:Media file license chart may be helpful. If unsure, ask on Talk:Wiki
