Hi OSMers, I'm a noob but working with some tech hotshots. We're making an app (free as in beer as well as in speech) which will help users find WiFi hotspots, and allow them to share new ones. It was my smart idea to use OSM so they expect me to take the lead. Steep learning curve! All help appreciated.

We have some datasets which appear to be public-domain, but as these things go they are already a bit out of date. Hence our plan to update in real time by means of crowdsourcing.

OK that was then - a few years ago. Now I'm just a general civic tech wonk. Revisiting my account as I've signed up with the bid to host SOTM in Cape Town.
