Opentouchmap is great! Currently the best slippymap for the iphone-safari. --John07 15:29, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

thank you. But it's still in an early stage. Go ahead with suggestions! --Nochmaltobi 18:24, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
--Nochmaltobi 22:58, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
so, jetzt gibts nen 'echten' Permalink. Nochmaltobi 22:46, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
sehr cool, danke dafür! --John07 17:33, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

OpenTouchMap.org feature requests and customization questions

  • Do you or do you plan to have support for layers and markers like in openlayers?
We do not force you, to stay with one specific tile-source, you can for example show any wms-source. (if thats what you meant with "layer"). And yes, markers are implemented. Have a look here: TouchMapLight, nochmaltobi 21:36, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
I see, more specific I meant does it allow for a layer of markers, like the openlayer's vector? All i see are single markers which would be slow if displaying many and also there isn't support to load markers from a text or xml file. Correct? --Ptix 18:13, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
correct. No support for kml and the markers are single markers- nochmaltobi 19:34, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
  • Set margins to 0: <body .. style="margin:0px">
thank you, I changed it. Nochmaltobi 21:09, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Rename Meta to Menu. (And make it look like the Google Latitude menu page?)
I am not sure if this view is a kind of "menu". Right now, there are just links, but one could think of integrating a search-function or something else there. I am thinking of it, for now I changed the look slightly so it is a bit more read- and clickable. Nochmaltobi 21:09, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Why does bookmarking it as a home page icon fail with the apple-mobile-web-app-capable property?
Could you give more details on this? It works for me to add an icon on my home-screen. Nochmaltobi 21:09, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
The Add screen comes up, hit "Add", it leaves the browser, but no home screen app icon appears. (It works without the apple-mobile-app properties.) vibrog 20:18, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

  • Tweaks: I adopted the code to use my own hiking map rendering (only my "neighborhood"), and I did two small tweaks: <body onload="init();goToMyPosition();" and I added a small (black-translucent) "GPS button" in the upper left corner (the one most difficult to reach when thumb controlling the iPhone).
  • I'd use <meta name="apple-mobile-web-app-status-bar-style" content="black-translucent"/>

Hi, I'm from gvSIG Mini team and we want to add support to create "I'm here!" links using OpenTouchMap witch is working pretty well on Android phones. So, my question is if there's any way to add a marker from an url like in the export version of OSM http://www.openstreetmap.org/export/embed.html?bbox=-0.38298,39.47253,-0.37823,39.47557&layer=mapnik&marker=39.4737337,-0.380766 At this moment we plan to use OpenTouchMap but a marker would be really amazing. jsanz 14:27, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

since opentouchmap is using touchmaplight, you can use the 'markers'-parameter. See OpenTouchMap#how_to_use_it. nochmaltobi 21:07, 19 October 2010 (BST)
