Why ?
Why mark a fire station on maps for drivers? For the most part, nobody cares where a fire station is. People only care how long it takes the fire department to get to them when their property is ablaze.
So the importance of a fire station is not due to navigation but due to proximity. Some map users (real estate agents, insurance adjusters, property buyers) may care how far it is to the fire station.
Thus we should record the location of fire stations on our maps.
