Rationale
Area typically in the center of cities with historic buildings and often with touristic facilities. Usually with shops/amenities at street level and residential use upstairs. It isn't for singular features such as *a* church, *a* museum, but wider areas that in the biggest cases have some kilometers of diameter.
For historic centers there is this page on italian wikipedia Centro Storico with some pictures.
