Proposal

A tag to identify and locate canoe, kayak, and standup paddleboard put in spots.

Can be used on nodes, ways, areas, and relations.

Rationale

There is currently no tag for this feature. There are similar tags for motorboats (e.g. whitewater=put_in, leisure=slipway), beaches, etc. but nothing that is specific to this use. In my area, there are places where one is allowed to put in non-motorized craft and not allowed to swim or use a motorized craft. There are currently a number of maps for this purpose using closed source data and this tag could be used to create maps based on OSM data.

Tagging

A human powered craft put_in would be tagged as Waterway=put_in along with

Examples

This tag could overlap with motorboat slipways (Tag:leisure=slipway) or be a standalone feature. Here is a sample slipway tagged with the waterway=put_in
