= Proposal

Feature for adding link to website for any map features that have one (like pubs, hotels, museums, castles, golf courses or basically anything that have its website, etc ...) Generally only official websites owned by whoever maintains/owns the structure in question should be entered this way to avoid cluttering with many links.

May apply to:

  • <node>s: Yes
  • <way>s: Yes
  • <area>s: Yes

Rendering

The object in question could be just made clickable - rendering could be unchanged.

Or alternatively, blue frame could be draw around the icon to indicate clickability.

Discussion

website seems to be already quite widely used, although I've seen webpage or homepage too. Therefore I think the name should be standardized, so people and programs would look for only single tag.

Possibly more websites could be added by suffixing the key, like website:official or website:departures although I think more than one would be rarely used and I can't think of any generally usable suffixes now.

Is this a duplicate of Proposed features/Info on web-presence? (which itself was a duplicate of Proposed features/External links#Official_website) Ojw 08:10, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Certainly seems to be a duplicate. I propose we merge the proposal into Proposed features/External links -- Harry Wood 10:49, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
