Services and culture Gothenburg 2026
NOTE: This page is placed incorrectly, and should be moved to Organised_Editing/Activities/Services_and_culture_Gothenburg_2026. I can not find the move option, probably due to the account being new. Assist as neccessary.
Rationale
The purpose of this activity is to control the actuality and elevate the quality of data in OSM related to local retail and services, as well as places where cultural activities take place, in different parts of Gothenburg. The participants will visit areas in Gothenburg and control the OSM data there, and remove incorrect data and add missing data.
The ultimate goal is to paint a better picture of where services, retail and cultural activities create urban life on the street level. Therefore, only findings accessible from the street level will be mapped as part of this activity, and services above street level will be excluded.
The activity takes inspiration from a similar activity in Stockholm, descriped on this wiki page: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Organised_Editing/Activities/Retail_and_services_Stockholm

Measuring our success
We will review the commits by the participants to estimate the success of the activity. The main metric of the project is how many areas have been visited, and therefore how much area have been controlled. Another metric is how much new data has been added or removed, although confirming the correctness of existing data is also a valid result.
Training/instructions
The participants will get a brief introduction to OSM and the Go Map!! app, and be directed to areas we want them to investigate. We will map out a route for them to follow.
Post-event clean-up
Administrators will monitor the commits of participating users to ensure that the participants provice beneficial contributions.
Results
At this time we do not plan to share the results with the community in any organised fashion, but will leave a brief report of the results in the aforementioned forum thread.
