This tag is very rare, a more common alternative is healthcare=hospice. There is also an alternative tag amenity=social_facility+social_facility=hospice which has less usage. Some hospices are also tagged amenity=hospital.

Hospice care is designed to give supportive care to people in the final phase of a terminal illness and focus on comfort and quality of life, rather than cure.

Usage history

This tag was eliminated in 2020 by systematic retagging (see usage in late 2017 and look at history of this objects - when amenity=hospice tag was eliminated)
