Emergency medical device used to dislodge the airway obstruction from a person that is choking. It works by placing a mask covering the mouth and nose, then pushing the handle down and then pulling it upwards. It does not replace conventional anti-choking methods (i.e. Heimlich maneuver) or calling an ambulance.
Some companies produce and offer these devices, such as LifeVac and Dechoker. They can be bought by individuals, organisations or the management of a public place, for example a shopping center. In this case, they may be placed next to a emergency=defibrillator.
This tag has few uses and has not been (yet) proposed as a formal tag. A discussion would be required, considering "anti choking device" is not the only name these devices are known as, since "airway clearance device" is another common term.
