How to map

Create a node or a way and tag it with military=trench. In addition the tag trench=* can be used to indicate major details in the trench walls:

  • trench=firestep - A step or platform in the front side of a military trench that soldiers can stand on and fire over the parapet.
  • trench=dugout - A pit dug into the ground as a shelter, especially from enemy fire.
