An astronomical observatory is a place with scientific instruments for observing the starry sky. In addition to individual celestial bodies of the solar system and our galaxy (stars, star clusters, nebulae), increasingly extragalactic celestial objects are the target of observation as well as associated databases and theoretical work.

It may be scientific observatory or public education.

To tag the instrument to watch use man_made=telescope + telescope:type=optical.

How to map

Add a node node or draw an area area of the building or the terrain.

Add the tags man_made=observatory + observatory:type=astronomical.
