A bluehole is a vertical, underwater sinkhole, named after the deep blue color they mainly show. It is typically an area outside natural=coastline, but can be a node if too small to be mapped as an area.

When used on an area, this does not need to be an inner polygon in a multipolygon relation, or otherwise disconnected or excluded of the surrounding waters, as it is included in them, owing to its nature.

Example

The  Great Blue Hole, a bluehole in Belize, would be an area tagged this way:

natural=sinkhole
sinkhole=bluehole
name=Great Blue Hole
depth=124
