What's the prefix "service:vehicle" good for ? Does it add any information ? Why not just use motorcycle:* bicycle:* car:* (etc.) as a prefix ?
Also check Namespace and change the meaning of a tag already in use

How does it fit with existing tagging schemes ?

If you know places with this tag, verify if it could be tagged with another tag.
Automated edits are strongly discouraged unless you really know what you are doing!

Compare with
shop=motorcycle

This adds another different syntax

to the already existing mess.
And it's not really designed following the KISS principle.

In case you'd like some nice examples what went wrong with your "just as bicycle" concept :

I updated the article to be neutral and actually discuss each tagging scheme in more detail. If my any of updates to the article are not adequate for some reason feel free to discuss it here so other people can give their feedback and we can agree on how the article should be written instead. --Adamant1 (talk) 05:21, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
For me, shop=motorcycle and service:vehicle:motorbike=yes are different. The first means a shop that sells motorcycle only. The second means a shop that also sells motorcycles among other things. The same goes with shop=truck_repair and service:vehicle::truck_repair=yes, for example. --AntMadeira (talk) 21:49, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
