Proposal talk:Access Ramp

I think we don't need a tag like this. All we need is

highway=footway incline=Percentage or highway=steps wheelchair=yes/no

Giving the percentage just to mark the pure existence of a ramp would make it necessary to measure each slope. Not very practical as few mappers carry a water level with a scale. Apart from that, there are inclined footways in any place with hills which do not represent access ramps. I could live with highway=footway ramp=yes/no but the original proposal fits best in my eyes.--Jesuzphreak 23:31, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

I have another idea: access ramps which are physically separated from steps could be mapped with the existing highway=footway, and instead of ramp=yesetc. we could use a new tag - footway=access_ramp. This would indicate that the footway represents an access ramp. With tags like incline=* and wheelchair=yes/no we mark whether the ramp is usable by wheeelchair drivers. For existing ramps which are next to and parallel to steps, so they are not physically separated from these, we do have the existing tags like ramp=yes/no, ramp:bicycle=yes/no etc. --Lukas458 14:01, 17 August 2017 (UTC)

implies wheelchair = yes

It should be made clear, that this tag implies wheelchair=yes, so a ramp next to steps where you can push your bike up is not ramp=yes.
