Nomenclature for food storage

There appears to be several terms to describe a place to store food to prevent animal access: "food cache", "bear cache", "bear box", "food locker", etc. Sofar all of them are barely in use. I believe 'food cache' would be the most appropriate term:

• The device is for caching food, not for boxing or cachine bears.
• It is not just for bears but for detering animals of all sizes.
• It is not necessaily a box but could be of other designs such as a treehouse or hanging system.
