What about bi-directional wells?

Resolved

I completely second this attempt of generalizing wells tagging, out of substance specific existing terminology.
However, some wells are intended for storage, which implies they run in both directions, both for petroleum and water.
Can't we define a tag valid for all wells and use direction=*, with direction=both when applicable please? Fanfouer (talk) 11:01, 23 September 2021 (UTC)

Interesting, do bi-directional wells actually exist in situations not covered by man_made=water_well? I also think a single tag would be better, if it's possible to make that change (discussion on Talk:Proposed_features/Bore). Were you thinking something like direction=extraction/injection or direction=up/down? --Kylenz (talk) 22:57, 23 September 2021 (UTC)
I thought about bores that don't relate to petroleum nor water: CO2 storage/extraction wells for instance. Yes direction=injection, direction=extraction or direction=both would be ok. Would you mind merging this proposal with Proposed_features/Bore or rework it to make a dedicated vote on direction=* combination with wells at least? Fanfouer (talk) 07:57, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
Yes I think it this proposal can be deleted, Proposed_features/Bore can include something like direction=extraction/injection/both which can be discussed over there --Kylenz (talk) 22:26, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
