What about content=* ?

What about the usage of content=* in combination with amenity=grit_bin? --Bma (talk) 13:40, 27 February 2014 (UTC)

  • good idea, i added it. There may be salt, sand, or splitt. For the latter one I am not sure if that value is used international --Agent redd (talk) 09:09, 26 September 2021 (UTC)

Access

Why is description of access=permissive (only a selected group is free to use; i.e. residents, local authorities) different from the meaning described at road permissions (where the tag link points to)? That will lead to errors. Aceman444 (talk) 14:08, 25 September 2016 (UTC)

Marking grit bins placed only during winter?

What about marking grit bins present only during Winter and not present in Summer? I would suggest adding seasonal=yes to them. Triggered by https://github.com/streetcomplete/StreetComplete/issues/2726#issuecomment-826391753 Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 06:21, 26 April 2021 (UTC)

In GB that wouldn't be necessary, they are permanent. But if there are areas where they aren't permanent it could be useful. seasonal=winter would be more explicit too. --CjMalone (talk) 21:31, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
As usual, problem with seasonal=winter is that it can be "only during winter" or "except winter" and requires context and assumptions to work well... Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 09:00, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
