waste_basket=*

Wouldn't it be useful with the tag waste_basket=*? I see no need to have the amenity=waste_basket tag, as waste baskets can be tagged with for instance waste_basket=general or waste_basket=dog_feces alone. --Erik Lundin 23:51, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Your suggestion leaves more options for what kind of waste basket it is. Logictheo 07:16, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
We have waste=* for this.--Jojo4u (talk) 15:04, 25 January 2015 (UTC)

Big belly bins

There's a company called "big belly" which makes these smart bins

They have solar panels for power, and they compact the waste, and they email the council when the bin needs emptying. But what's the tag?

Other "smart bins" have other features e.g. flatscreen ad panels, wifi provision, sneaky wifi data gathering etc etc

In this case I'm thinking amenity=waste_basket + auto_compacting=yes

Dog waste station

Are there tags specific to doggie poo receptacles, small waste bins which often offer a supply of small plastic bags? T99 (talk) 01:53, 15 July 2018 (UTC)

amenity=vending_machine vending=excrement_bags bin=yes/no (is there a receptacle attached to take used bags?) fee=yes/no (does it cost money?) Omgitsgela (talk) 00:53, 22 July 2018 (UTC)

Bear-proof waste receptacles

Are there established tags for marking a waste receptacle as "bear-proof" or ruggerized and latched? T99 (talk) 19:30, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
