Which relation to use

I did a relation for the wikipedia:Aqueduct of the Gier [1] it's a multipolygon relation. Otourly 13:01, 20 November 2011 (UTC)

Thank you Otourly for your comment. In the case of an aqueduct which is mapped as an area I agree, but most aqueducts are mapped as linear ways, for which the suitable relation is route. --Dieterdreist 12:55, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

New underground aqueducts

Say what to do about new underground aqueducts, for e.g., power generation or irrigation. Jidanni (talk) 03:37, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

At the top of the proposal page it reads: Note: current aqueducts should be mapped as pipelines. . The thing this proposal/tag describes is the physical structure that looks like an aquaduct - as in the pictures, irrespective of the current use for transporting water. Then why this? "The main disadvantage is, that aqueducts not always are bridge-like structures, there is also underground aqueducts and others like walls with the conveying tube above." --NE2 13:23, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

The aqueducts I am thinking of are

• New construction. Not something from history.
• Run many miles
• Are totally underground, perhaps 200 meters underground often
• Are related to electricity production and / or irrigation / drinking water
• Are 5 meters in diameter.
