Similarity

The definition is somewhat similar to 'club' key. Rafmar (talk) 20:18, 9 June 2015 (UTC)

Tag a bit misleading?

Was just looking how to map a maker space and found this tag. Hacker space sounds to me where a bunch of coders get together to program - nothing else. --Rene78 (talk) 10:07, 28 August 2020 (UTC)

Typical hackerspace involves both some coding activity and some activity without any coding (such as furniture making / railway models / tweaking guns (possibly of airsoft variety) /etc things, and some crossover including electronics or use of CNC machines / laser cutters. Though some hackerspaces are likely purely coding oriented Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 19:40, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
There is quite some overlap between makerspaces and hackerspaces; one can consider a makerspace as a subtype of a hackerspace; and this is how they are currently tagged as well. Pietervdvn (talk) 23:35, 7 March 2022 (UTC)

Render icon

It seems to me that none of the standard map themes have a hackerspace icon.

Am I wrong?

If not, shouldn't they have one?

Hi Funkyboris; yes - may maps don't show them by default; that is not problematic. There are a few showing them; that's enough. Note: you can sign your message with four tildes. Pietervdvn (talk)
