Railroad switches

Should small segments of rail used to connect two rails with railroad switches be tagged with service=siding? Perhaps service=switch or something? --Nighto 03:35, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

How to map the sidings' names?

I'm trying:

name=Calimus siding
operator=Union Pacific Railroad
railway=rail
service=siding

I guess I could even add ref=*... Jidanni (talk) 08:46, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
