A reading list of discussions about place=* values that represent populated places (human settlements), particularly the distinction between place=city and place=town. Discussions about how to determine population=* are also included to the extent that the population of a place influences its place classification. Some relevant discussions about census-designated places (CDPs) and core-based statistical areas (CBSAs) are also included.
