fountain=*

Status: de facto

fountain=nasone indicates a Roman style iron cast drinking water fountain.

Please use this tag only for the exact nasone type of drinking water fountains and not for similar or different drinking water fountains.

This type of drinking fountain dates back to an effort by then mayor Luigi Pianciani, who started in 1874 the creation of a dense network of water fountains to provide free drinking water everywhere on the streets and squares of the city. Currently there are said to be 2500-2800 nasoni still deployed in the city.
