Radar transponders are active transponders mounted on marine objects, they come in various forms, such as continuous transmitting ramark or racons that transmits only when activated by a radar signal. These can be either circular, or directional, and be limited to special bands of transmission. Common for all radar transponders is that they are mounted so that they can be used to easily identify marine objects.
