Introduction
A bikesharing station is the place where you can pick or return a bicycle of a bike-sharing system.
Similar network of bikesharing are present in Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Vienna (all stations already in OSM) and from now on, in Milan (Italy)
We need a way to tag the node where the station is..
Tagging
amenity=bikesharing_station operator=ClearChannel ref= station ID if present url= if exist a webpage where to check the station availability
Discussion
How about just amenity=bikesharing? I would support that, it's simpler.--Extremecarver 09:22, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
How about amenity=bicycle_rental? A bicycle_rental is something different from the bikesharing/citybike model discussed here. Bikerentals are usually commercially run places while most bikesharing are supported by city goverment or similar and you can take a bike from station A and return it to any station on the bikesharing network. Often more than 100 depending on the city.--Extremecarver 09:22, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
- Well, all the exemples at amenity=bicycle_rental are, in fact, city-operated multi-station bikesharing networks. Montreal's recently inaugurated Bixi also fits the bill. Circeus 16:27, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
