A HVDC Back-to-back Station is a facility where AC is converted into DC an then back again into AC on the area of the same facility by uses of electronic means ( thyristores, IGBTs, mercury arc valves). The AC systems, which are connected by a HVDC Back-to-back station can have different frequencies and phase counts.
