:::I was trying to say that I'm willing to help out, but manually opening and editing 500+ pages just to remove a parameter that does not display anyway is not particularly entertaining; mapping trees in a savanna would be better spent time. AWB looks like a promising tool to automate the job, but I don't know what it takes to run it ([https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/warts-and-all warts and all]) on OSM wiki.
