Shouldn't these be in floodplain:delineated_by format? Samuelrussell (talk) 02:08, 6 April 2016 (UTC)

Key?

At present the key 'natural' is used to tag landcover and landfeatures (woods and peaks for example). Using the key 'natural' for floodplain would mean that you could not have natural=scrub as well as floodplain. As this is a water type feature (even if not water covered all the time) would it not be better to have waterway=floodplain? It is a feature/value that would be good to have. Verifiability

How mappers are supposed to survey or verify 100 year flood areas? Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 22:34, 20 January 2021 (UTC)

In New South Wales, Australia there is an OSM accessible and legally usable DCS Base Map that indicates areas of flood plains... these are more frequent that every 100 years. Presently some of these these are incorrectly tagged such as natural=mud. By having no tag for this feature encourages misuse of other tags. Warin61 (talk)
