Your project sounds interesting – I don’t know enough about OpenStreetMap but have heard a few people talking about it.
Feel free to use any of the resources that are available under http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/about/visiting/maps/ including the Interactive Map which uses Microsoft Virtual Earth.
For aerial shots of the campus, if you go to the Media Library (http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/communications/medialibrary) and type “aerial” into the search box, they are the most recent aerial shots we have of campus but they are from a few years ago.
If you have any ideas on how we can use the data from OpenStreetMap then I am open to suggestions... : ) Let us know how you get on...
