Beginning 1 July 2024, the main OpenStreetMap website and API will require OAuth 2.0 to authenticate. HTTP Basic Authentication and OAuth 1.0a will no longer be supported; for security reasons, both methods have been deprecated since 2023. OAuth 2.0 is already the standard authorization method for most systems.
If you are encountering a software error that references this page, you will need to update your software to the latest version.
