Imposm parser

This page describes a historic artifact in the history of OpenStreetMap. It does not reflect the current situation, but instead documents the historical concepts, issues, or ideas.

Impact on OpenStreetMap

This project was used as OSM data parsing library for Imposm version 2. With the rewrite of Imposm for version 3 in Go, the library became superfluous.

Reason for being historic

This project is not maintained any more.

Omniscale released this Python based parser for PBF and OSM XML files under Apache Software License 2.0. It is a sub-package of Imposm, but can also be used as a stand-alone library.
