東京都 (Tōkyō-to)は日本の関東にある都で、北緯35度40分48.00秒、東経139度45分36.00秒にあります。

Subdivisions

The former Tokyo Prefecture (東京府, Tōkyō-fu) was merged with the former city of Tokyo (東京市, Tōkyō-shi) to form the current "metropolitan prefecture". The metropolitan prefecture, mostly located to the south-east of Honshū (本州), the largest island of Japan to the centre, includes:

  • Miyake Subprefecture, made of two municipalities (two villages): Miyake and Mikurajima;
  • Hachijō Subprefecture, made of two municipalities (a town and a village): Hachijō and Aogashima;
  • Ogasawara Subprefecture, made of one municipality (a village): Ogasawara (also managing two other tiny outlying islands).
