Kathmandu Living Labs/SOTM2013
Kathmandu Living Labs is organizing an event that will run in parallel with the global OpenStreetMap convention 2013. The global State Of the Map (SOtM) 2013 is going to be be held in Birmingham, UK, from 6th – 8th September 2013. Kathmandu Living Labs is live screening the talks from SOTM UK, 2013. Apart from the live screening, Kathmandu Living Labs is planning to organize other events like Geocaching, Editathon and Futsal.
What is SOtM?
The State of the Map (SotM) conference is the annual conference of OpenStreetMap. Organised by the OpenStreetMap Foundation it has been held each year since 2007. There have also been other regional and local "State of the Map" conferences.
Why SOtM 2013 screening in Kathmandu?
State of the Map UK has gathered pioneers of OpenStreetMap exchanging keynotes and stream of presentations and workshops examining current practice, organisation and relationships. We cannot be present at the conference, therefore we thought of live streaming the conference. It will provide us a platform to listen to such experiences live.
