Mapsource is software which comes with Garmin GPS products. You get Mapsource when you buy a garmin map or device including maps. Originally is is not freely available as such (Get free MapSource).

Another mapping software from Garmin, with different features is BaseCamp ([1]) BaseCamp is freely available and has some overlapping features. TODO: describe better
