VOTE END UPDATE

The proposal moved to emergency. → Tag:emergency=fire_hydrant

amenity vs. emergency

After a long discussion about the "emergency-tags" we decided to let the fire hydrants in the amenity namespace (for now).

This discussion was where? Please provide the link.

Proposal

The amenity=fire_hydrant tag is already there. This Proposal is more precise than the old tag.

amenity=fire_hydrant
+ fire_hydrant:type=underground/pillar/wall/pond
+ fire_hydrant:diameter=# (optional)
+ fire_hydrant:pressure=#/suction (optional)
+ ref=* (optional)
+ name=* (optional)
+ fire_hydrant:position=lane/parking_lot/sidewalk/green (optional)
+ fire_hydrant:count=# (optional)

additional proposal - not approved by vote beneath

+ fire_hydrant:reservoir=# (optional)

There are spring-fed basins with a spring too small to support large quantity of water sampling by itself. So the basin needs a reservoir capacity such as 80m³. Since 'capacity' is ambiguous under this topic I proposed 'reservoir'. -feneks

Attributes

1. Hydrant type (surface- / underground hydrant)
fire_hydrant:type=underground/pillar/wall/pond
underground pillar wall pond

thy fire hydrand is underground, you need a standpipe aka "dry hydrant", you need a pump

2. Dimensioning (diameter 65, 80, 100, 150 etc.)
fire_hydrant:pipe_diameter=*

3. Name / ID
name=*
ref=* need example what to enter

4. Position (close range)
fire_hydrant:position=lane/parking_lot/sidewalk/green

5. Pressure

6. Count
fire_hydrant:count=# (if there are more than one fire hydrant)

7. Dismissed ideas (see discussion in thread (German) and mailing list)
man_made=fire_hydrant
emergency=fire_hydrant Mailing list: It's a big thing to change things to emergency, there are not only fire hydrants but hospitals, police stations, ...
Incorrect, as nothing renders it, the only change is a JOSM preset change.
refnr=*
performance_pressure=#
performance_flow=#

emergency=ambulance_station emergency=fire_extinguisher emergency=fire_flapper emergency=fire_hose emergency=ses_station emergency=siren are all valid.
