Buoyage systems

The tags defined on this page will render in various nautical charts.

This page defines values for the "seamark:buoy_lateral:system" and "seamark:beacon_lateral:system" tags for lateral marks.

Coastal systems

There are two systems used for coastal lateral marks:

System seamark:buoy_lateral:system

seamark:beacon_lateral:system

Region Colours
 IALA-A iala-a World, except Americas, Korea & Japan Red Port-hand, Green Starboard-hand
 IALA-B iala-b Americas, Korea & Japan Green Port-hand, Red Starboard-hand

There are a number systems used for inland lateral marks:
