Discuss Height and width of a map page here:

Merge onto Zoom levels

I have merged this page onto the Zoom levels page, preserving just the useful bits. Most of this page was created with somebody's stats after they had experimentally determined the height and width of a map at their particular latitude (not realising how the whole "projection" thing was working) Perhaps useful to some people, but overall quite misleading in my opinion. We have stats given for the equator on the Zoom levels page. I moved the "pure maths" section from here and reformatted it a bit.

The particular problem the original page creator was trying to help with, would be nail quite well if the various Static map images APIs would display calculated scale information alongside (or even on the image, optionally) Patches welcome I'm sure
