Where is the Conflation Icon located? I have everything installed, but I can't find it.--IanVG (talk) 13:33, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

There is no icon; in the Menu, Windows -> Conflation you'll see the panel where you can configure and work with the plugin --Ale Zena IT (talk) 07:24, 11 October 2021 (UTC)

Okay! I will see if I get it to work. I was told on Slack that the latest version of the Conflation plugin is 0.6.7, and I only have 0.6.0 so I need to update that somehow.--IanVG (talk) 13:10, 11 October 2021 (UTC)

Conflation Matching and Merging

Exactly what do the different options in the conflation plugin do? I'm sticking with the 'Simple' mode for these questions:

  1. What does the one to one method mean? Does it mean that the conflation plugin will look for objects with the tags that I specify in the Tags section? What is the difference between one to one and disambiguating methods?
  2. I sort of understand what the distance method does (it contributes to the Score, which I also vaguely don't understand), but generally speaking if I increase the distance for the (let's say) centroid method, does the tolerance for finding matches increases?
  3. If I conflate a match in the 'Matches' section, is that the same as 'Merging?'
  4. If I want to update a tag on a building way (let's say level=*) with an authoritative dataset, would I set the window to look like below: or should I run something else?

Conflating address nodes into buildings

The wiki should remind that, depending on the region and local practices, addresses and buildings may be separate concepts with separate lives, and conflation should be avoided. E.g. in France one can find several address numbers (even from several streets) for the same land plot or for the same building, one address number for several plots with several buildings, and some other weirder examples.
