  • This key should be discouraged and OHV should be used
    • ORV and OHV have been used interchangeably.
    • Off Road Vehicle is a misnomer. Rarely are vehicles allowed off road.
    • In the US, most of the roads where unlicensed vehicles (OHV) are allowed are on US Forest Service or Bureau of Land Management land. The USFS & the BLM use the term OHV. Thus far ORV and OHV are only used in the US, so this is relevant.
    • ORV has only been used 226 times, OHV has been used over 2000 times.

Even the federal government uses both terms interchangeably: the national MUTCD specifies RS-067 for "off-road vehicle trails" – the very trails that the USFS and BLM reserve for "OHVs". Until we know of a jurisdiction that literally distinguishes between "ORV" and "OHV", I don't see a strong case for maintaining two separate keys that will confuse everyone in other jurisdictions. – Minh Nguyễn 💬 00:51, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
