okay, let me put this another way, how does one tag the bed and breakfast accomodations one finds all around the world? Simply tourism=bed_and_breakfast? Shouldnt we add this to the list? GercoKees GercoKees 14:44, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Element type for tourism=attraction
Is there a particular reason tourism=attraction is limited to nodes and areas? It would make sense to extend it to ways in order to tag bridges or roads (there are highways all over the world that serve as touristic attraction...) that are actually a touristic attraction. please feel free to comment or clarify the issue (maybe I just don't get it right?). --Marc 11:02, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
guest_house vs. bed_and_breakfast
Apparently the tag that has been accepted for accommodation that has not a hotel license and typically owner-operated, is 'guest_house', ranging from purpose-built guest houses to the old B&B with 3 bedrooms and the old lady. As of Dec 2011, 'guest_house' is used more than 15000 times, 'bed_and_breakfast' only 450. I propose to deprecate 'bed_and_breakfast'. --Polarbear w 12:29, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
I see the two as distinct, a bed and breakfast has a hotel license and is often a small hotel. Possibly, it would be better to tag amenity=hotel hotel=bed_and_breakfast. Brianegge (talk) 18:49, 2 November 2014 (UTC)
Holiday apartments: tourism=apartments ?
In many tourist regions, you can rent an apartment where you cook your own meals. I have seen on Tagwatch that in Germany and Austria, mappers use tourism=apartments for this. What needs to happen for this value to be officially accepted, offered by Josm and other editors, and to be documented on this wiki page as well?

Boat trips and guided tours
My short research for a tag to map boat trips and guided tours did not result in satisfying solutions. Maybe there should be a tags like tourism=guided_tour and tourism=boat_trip. I propose to use this on nodes which mark the place where to meet/start. Those objects which mark the place where to buy the tickets may be included to a site-relation dedicated to that single POI. Those may receive the roles

Suggest splitting tourism accommodation into sub keys
I.e.
Tourism=accommodation
Accommodation=hotel / B&B / Self_catering / chalet / etc.
Beds=* for number of sleeping spaces

tourism=holiday_village ?
According to TagInfo, there is 29 tourism=holiday_village and 1 tourism=holiday village (
Village de vacances in french).
The official tag seem to be leisure=resort ( Holiday resort in english).
