Can you please start the RFC?
You may also incorporate use cases, images etc. from this and this proposal. I am the author of the latter, but its syntax (with additional colon) and logic (default values) have proved too complicated for many people, so it would certainly be voted down for lack of understanding. - Oh, sorry. In the meantime I started a fresh proposal Proposed Features/addrN, because I thought you were inactive. Now you proved me wrong. Anyway, there's now a discussion going on in the tagging mailinglist. Please could you or your Russion / eastern European mates take part in that mailing list thread. Use multiple nodes
In case of building at the cross of the streets, why just not use multiple adresse nodes, one for each street, close to each street entrance ? It's not solve the case of multiple addresses for one entrance, but it's not look the case you try to solve. Frodrigo (talk) 22:18, 25 January 2015 (UTC)
- The scope of address nodes is undefined. Therefore, it is not defined whether each address node applies to a part of the building, or both address nodes apply to the whole building. If there are POIs (e.g. shop nodes, or doctors) within the building, it is not defined whether one or the other or both address nodes apply to the POI.
- Moreover, you say yourself that address nodes don't solve the case of multiple addresses for one entrance. A solution is not actually a solution when there are counter-examples. addrN tags are a solution, because they work in all situations.
